Sparks Are Still Happening... And We Have Proof

Life is weird right now: we’re spending more time indoors than ever before, physically distancing from each other, and we haven’t been able to date in person for a LONG time. Remember meeting up for dinner and drinks? (Us neither). You might think that the events of the past year are a recipe for dating disaster, but actually, sparks are still flying all over the globe! Pandemic or no pandemic, people are still flirting, sending each other their favourite memes, chatting on video call and making meaningful connections. To celebrate the Badoo community’s dedication to dating (despite what the past year has thrown at us), we’ve created an interactive LoveMap which shows exactly how we’re connecting across the world.

Is your country heating up?

We all like hearing about other people’s love lives, like getting the gossip about our friend’s latest crush. On LoveMap, you can check out the number of ‘sparks’ happening across the world (or in your city) at any given moment! The interactive heat map allows you to have a look into the dating lives of people anywhere – the purple dots show activity in any location.

What's trending?

Have you ever wished you could peek inside someone else’s brain? On LoveMap, you can check out the most-used gif of the day on Badoo and find out what the community’s top new interests are. 80’s films seem to be a popular choice, for obvious reasons (who doesn’t love The Breakfast Club?).

For an insight into what makes people tick, you can swipe across to see what are some of the dealbreakers for people on Badoo. Is it rudeness? Animal-hating? Or does someone not laughing at your jokes come out on top?

Cats or dogs?

The LoveMap can also be used to find out how many people on Badoo agree that dogs are great and cats are...not. Or whether most of you are Swifties or Beliebers, pizza-lovers or BBQ fanatics. Do you prefer lazing at the beach or hiking up a mountain? Find out how your interests compare with other people on Badoo here.

Is dating app chat slowing down?

Not according to the LoveMap: in the last 24 hours, there were over ONE MILLION photos sent between the Badoo community. The longest phone call of the week was a mammoth 799 hours...which should just about be enough time to discuss the main points. Did their match watch Bridgerton? If they had to choose between coffee and wine, which would they give up? Who do they think would win in a fight between ten miniature tigers and one giant duck? You know, all the essential questions.

In a world where we're physically apart, it's amazing to see how many people on Badoo are still connecting with one another. The LoveMap proves that we're not letting anything stand in the way of our dating lives. We all want to meet someone who makes us laugh and feel good about ourselves, and we want to do the same for them.

Head over to LoveMap to see what's happening now!
