Badoo.com Names Bonn As The Flirtiest City in Germany

Bonn named Germany’s capital … of flirting : new study

Beats Bochum, Munich and Wuppertal to top Germany’s first National Flirtation League; Berlin placed17^th.  

Badoo.com analyses 12m flirtations in largest ever study of online flirting 

Bonn is also flirtier than Paris, Madrid, London or New York

 

Bonn is today named “Germany’s flirtiest city” by the compilers of the largest ever study of online flirting.

Bochum ranks second, Munich third and Wuppertal fourth in Germany’s first “National Flirtation League”, compiled by Badoo.com (www.badoo.com) – the world’s largest Social Network for meeting new people, with over 111 million users chatting and flirting in 180 countries across the world.

 

Badoo’s flirtation league ranks German cities by the number of online chats/flirtations initiated per month by the average Badoo user in each city. The results for Germany are part of a larger global study, analysing 12 million flirtatious contacts made during a month on Badoo.

 

“This is a proud day for Bonn”, says Lloyd Price, Badoo’s Director of Marketing. “It may no longer be a government capital but it is now officially Germany’s capital of flirting.”  

 

It is also a new claim to fame for a city previously best known as the capital of Germany and the birthplace of Beethoven.

 

The average Badoo user in Bonn initiates 22.7 online flirtations per month. This is slightly more than in Bochum (20.5) or Munich (20.0), in second and third place, but far more than in Berlin (17.1), Germany’s capital and largest city but only its 17^th most flirtatious city.  

 

Badoo users in Bonn, also out-flirt those in Nice (22.3), France’s flirtiest city; Vienna (21.9), Austria’s flirtiest city; and Zurich (21.9), Switzerland’s flirtiest.

 

Indeed, they also out-flirt those in Paris (20.7), despite the latter’s global reputation for romance; London (19.0), the UK’s flirtiest city; and Madrid (21.3), while almost matching those in Spain’s flirtiest city, Bilbao (22.9).  

 

Badoo users in all of Germany’s 10 flirtiest cities are more flirtatious than their counterparts in, for example, Amsterdam (18.4); Istanbul (16.6); Buenos Aires (16.3); New York (16.1) or Rio de Janeiro (12.4).

 

“This proves that German flirters can compete at an international level”, says Lloyd Price.

 

The average number of flirtations initiated per month by Badoo users in Germany’s 10 flirtiest cities is 19.7. The average in German cities overall is 18.4. 

 

Badoo users in even the flirtiest German cities, however, cannot match their counterparts in Athens, which was last month named by Badoo as the world’s flirtiest city. The average Badoo user in Athens initiates 25.7 flirtations per month.
