How to Manifest Your Dating Goals

Manifesting is a practice that’s grown in popularity in recent years, largely thanks to the Gen Z population. In fact, a quick search on TikTok reveals that videos with the hashtag ‘manifestation’ have racked up 20.2 billion views. In case you’re not familiar with the term – manifesting is the art of thinking positive thoughts, visualising what you desire and taking action to create your dream reality. The practice has reportedly helped people achieve lots of different goals: from landing a dream job to the perfect apartment. So, why not apply it to dating and relationships?

We enlisted the help of manifestation coach Francesca Amber to create the Manifest-dating Guide: a list of tips to help daters visualise and achieve what they want from dating. Waiting around for a match is over – Francesca encourages you to affirm what you want and take steps to achieve it. Read on for her tips.

Love yourself

Create a life you love full of friends, family, hobbies, travel - whatever it is you want. Never wait for or rely on a partner to enjoy the things that YOU love in life. Live that life already and only look to a partner to complement, enhance and share that life with you.

Set the intention

We might be tempted to compare new experiences to previous ones, but it’s important to go on dates with an open mind and positive attitude. Be open minded and let people show you who they are. Set the intention and make the goal to just have fun.

Create a vision board

Make a relationship vision board which includes a list of core values and attributes you want in a partner. Write a list of non-negotiable traits that are deeply important to you so that if you start dating and get love blind you can look back clearly on what were your deal breakers.

    Make Space

Firstly, make mental space. Intentionally clear a little space each week to let in the new, and then literally declutter your life and environment. Make space in your home and your wardrobe by getting rid of everything that no longer serves you. The trick is to clear with intention so that you only fill that space with the dating experiences that you want to attract.

      Visualise your ideal relationship

Visualisation is a really incredible manifesting tool if used regularly. Visualise yourself in your ideal relationship. Try not to imagine how your future partner will look or act but rather how you FEEL and the activities you will do together.

Become what you want to attract

If you’re looking for a fitness fanatic partner who enjoys the gym and working out - become that first. If you want an adventurous partner who hikes mountains every weekend and loves travelling, do it too! We truly are a mirror and attract back to us what we are, do and think. So embody what you desire.

Remember, a partner doesn’t define you

The more you can bring to the table by being happy in your own life, confident in your own qualities and able to grow and evolve with somebody, the more success you will have with dating.
