In Fall of 2009, a Tallahassee native and veteran rap artist, Byrd Nino will be releasing his album titled, “Da Grey Album. ” Byrd Nino’s latest single “Baby” is available now and is taking over the mainstream/ hip-hop market nationwide.

Daryl Johnson, a. k. a. Byrd Nino, has been rapping and producing music since he was 13 years old. Byrd Nino started off in a group with his best friend, Notty Black. Later, they recruited more members and became the “Nappy Heads. ” He later left the group to begin his solo career, in which he released the hit single “So Florida, ” which received rotation on several radio stations in the North Florida area. Johnson currently runs Byrd-N-Black Productions with Notty 2x. He has worked with many local artists such as T-Pain, Notty Black and Blood Shot.

Byrd Nino is versatile in his creation of music. He is known for making extraordinary beats. With over 10 underground albums, he is a local celebrity in the southern rap scene. He was inspired by artists including: Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, early 90’s R&B group Bel Biv Devoe, D. O. C., Outkast, Bobby Brown and the Dogg Pound.

Byrd Nino has performed in several clubs throughout Florida and Georgia. Along with his club success, he has a great interest in promoting non-violence in the community. He performed at the “Peace in the Hood” Rally at the Walker Ford Community Center in Tallahassee, FL.
